Exploring the countryside on bicycles is a special treat for guests in Bad Zwischenahn. Its flat, attractive routes make Bad Zwischenahn a real cycling El Dorado. The cycle path network includes more than 380 kilometres of signposted routes for cyclists and walkers. The system was completed in July 1997. Now 20 routes are signposted, including the sail-boat route around the lake, the ladybird way, the sea-horse way and the dinosaur way for children. They are marked with symbols. Information plaques along the way give an insight into the history and culture of the 130 square-kilometre district. The routes link up to regional and national rambling routes such as the Reiher-Weg, Meer-Weg and the Fehn-Route.
