Sebastian Kneipp's therapy concept is based on tried and tested natural healing methods. The person is treated holistically, whereby body, mind and soul are brought into harmony.
Bad Zwischenahn interprets the five central pillars of Kneipp's teachings in a contemporary way: with a modern and spacious Kneipp facility and a harmonious offer for a positive body awareness and many moments of happiness directly at the Zwischenahner Meer.
Water contains the pure energy of life. Refreshing, pleasant, vitalising!
"Get to know water properly and it will always be a reliable friend to you."
My desire to heal people - as well as my severe tuberculosis illness in my younger years - led me to research the healing power of water, but also the effect of plants and the interaction of food and exercise, which also earned me the title "Water Doctor". I then developed my holistic health concept, based on Kneipp's teaching of the 5 pillars. At the same time, together with my long-time friend, the pharmacist Leonhard Oberhäußer, I was able to lay the foundation for my own product line "Kneipp". To this day, the "Kneipp" brand is based on my therapy concept.
I wish Bad Zwischenahn many enthusiastic Kneipp spa guests.
Water is more than just a thirst quencher ... water is pure healing power of nature! Who hasn't heard of water casts or water cures?
Today, Kneipp's therapy concept is more relevant than ever, because natural healing methods that treat people holistically are now part of modern therapy - both classically as a spa treatment, but also as a wellness kick everyone can do at home.
Trying it out is a must!
The spa centre in Bad Zwischenahn has a new modern Kneipp facility with a water treading pool and an arm bath.
Just try it out!
How does water treading work on your body?
This famous water treatment by Sebastian Kneipp can be performed anywhere, even without modern water treading facilities! The shore of the Zwischenahner Meer is ideally suited!
Pay attention to the water temperature. The water should not be warmer than 18 degrees! And for the water height: only up to the knee!
Simply go into the cold water to just below the back of the knees and lift your feet completely out of the water one after the other and lower them again. As soon as the cold stimulus becomes too strong, the application should be stopped.
Do you need a healthy stimulant? Here Sebastian has a great tip: a cold arm bath has a stimulating effect - but not an exciting one, i.e. an invigorating effect is achieved, but one that doesn't cause problems falling asleep later.
When performing a cold arm bath, only the arms need to be freed. The arm bath is considered a natural stimulant.
The best time for an arm bath is around midday.
The water temperature should be between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius.
Make sure that your hands are warm at the beginning of the application.
Immerse the arms in water up to the middle of the upper arms until a cold sensation is felt (about 30 to 40 seconds), while continuing to breathe.
Wipe the water off the arms and ensure that they ged warmed up again (dressing, swinging the arms, etc.).
